  1. These people seem to list some reasonable priced B&Bs. http://www.scottishaccommodationindex.com/edinburghthirdpage.php
  2. During the festival you might struggle to get both cheap and good in Edinburgh. You could consider a town outside Edinburgh with good transport links, prices would be cheaper. Try Inverkeithing (15mins by train to Waverley Station) or North Queensferry (10 miins). Both are just over the Forth bridge. Don't know your age or whether you are going to want to haunt the clubs to the wee hours, if not this might be better than Edinburgh for value. If you have your own car, then try Dunfermline (15 mins drive) or Perth, a bit further afield (35-40 mins). http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=inverkeithing+bed+and+breakfast&fb=1&split=1&gl=uk&view=text&ei=Doo3Sr6LLdqRjAfo8u2jDQ&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&cd=1&resnum=1 http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&view=text&hl=en-GB&gl=uk&q=North+Queensferry+bed+and+breakfast&btnG=Search+Maps http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?sourceid=navclient&hl=en-GB&rlz=1T4ADBR_en-GBGB207GB208&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=Dunfermline+bed+and+breakfast&fb=1&split=1&gl=uk&view=text&ei=c4s3St_UEYmQjAfJiaihDQ&sa=X&oi=local_group&ct=more-results&cd=1&resnum=1 http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&view=text&hl=en-GB&gl=uk&q=Perth+bed+and+breakfast&btnG=Search+Maps
  3. I would look in the Portobello area of Edinburgh if you want a nice bed and breakfast that is good value, it is right next to the beach and takes half an hour on the bus to get to the city centre, in moderate traffic, and its often faster (Day tickets on the bus are £3 and there are nightbuses as well, but you need to buy a different ticket for these) http://www.joppaturrets.com/prices.htm http://www.harvestguesthouse.co.uk/ http://www.stravenguesthouse.com/index.html also try http://www.bencraig.co.uk/ http://www.aynetreeguesthouse.co.uk/Home.html http://www.edinburgh-scotland.uk.com/ardgarth/ http://www.scottishaccommodationindex.com/accommodation_edinburgh/
  4. Agree with previous answerers re cost in Edin over summer. Could also try 5* youth hostel - not stayed myself tho friends have and recommend. Def worth a look, don't discount immediately as hostel - this is NOT your normal beestie ridden place! Rooms from single, twin to 8 bed all en suite and secure.V central, reasonably priced
  5. As the others say, you might have trouble finding much choice of accommodation during the festival. I've stayed at Pollock Halls (University of Edinburgh student halls) before- it's walking distance from the city centre, and not too expensive. The halls are managed during the summer by an outside firm called Edinburgh First. Have fun!
