Programming in Objective-C Functions?

Hello Everyone- I am beginning to learn Objective-C so I can begin working with Xcode. (Ultimate goal is to make iPhone apps.) However, I have had trouble with functions. What exactly are functions, and what are the arguments that can be listed in them? (e.x. randomfunction(john).) Any help would be much appreciated. -Note: Previous programming experience includes light programming in Visual Basic with Microsoft Excel.

1. I'd suggest getting a book on the topic. Your background really won't help you with your question. Functions in objective-C are really strange compared to how they're handled in other languages, including ANSI-C.
